Privacy Policy of the Middle Tennessee ISSA Chapter

What personally identifiable information is collected from you through this web site?
As a member of the Middle Tennessee ISSA Chapter, you will be asked to supply the following information: name, title, organization, work address, phone number (work), and email address. Members are given the option to only provide the specific information that they would want listed on the ISSA website. Members can still be granted access to the Members Only section of the ISSA website if they choose not to provide the requested information. They will only need a user-id and password for doing so.

Who is collecting the information?
All information being collected from this website is being done by the Middle Tennessee ISSA Chapter, a nonprofit organization consisting of security professionals and those individuals with a specific interest in security related issues.

How is the information used?
Collecting information about members of the Chapter helps us to know the different types of organizations that are represented in the Chapter as well as the geographic region that is represented. Contact information for members is posted in the Members Only section of the website for those members who have elected to share this information. The information collected about members is not used for any other purposes without first obtaining consent from the individual.

With whom will this information be shared?
The Middle Tennessee Chapter of ISSA does not share the information it collects with any third parties.

What choices are available to you regarding collection, use and distribution of the information?
All ISSA members are given the option of providing only the specific information that they wish to share with the organization. Members will always be asked for their consent before sharing any of their information with individuals outside of the Chapter. The Middle Tennessee Chapter does not have any control over information that is posted in the Members Only section, except to limit access to those webpages to members with a valid user-id and password.

How can you access and correct any inaccuracies in the information collected about you?
Members can access and make changes to their account profile anytime they wish by logging into the ISSA website with their user-id and password.

Are security procedures in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of information under ISSA's control?
Absolutely. We make use of a variety of physical and electronic safeguards to prevent loss, misuse and unauthorized access of your data contained within this web site. Electronic measures include firewalls, stringent access control settings on operating systems and data, intrusion detection systems and anti-virus software, data and power backup systems. Physical measures include physical access control to server and network systems, environmental controls, and alarm protection for the facility. Procedural measures include applying and maintaining patches for applications and server systems, comprehensive logging of application and network events, archival and daily review of such logs, and availability of a 7x24 incident response team.

Do we capture your IP address?
Our web servers and firewalls do keep a record of your IP address together with the time, date, and web page you accessed. This information is used for general access statistics and for security control purposes. Your IP address will not be correlated to you personally, except for investigation of attempted or successful security incidents that appear to be coming from your IP address.

Do we use cookies on our web site?
We only set one cookie which contains your email address. This is done so that you don't have to enter your email address every time you log into the Member-Only portion of our web site. There is no other information stored in our cookie. Our cookie is not used for any kind of usage tracking, and our web site does not try to access other cookies you may have.
