Welcome to the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association
|
|
The Middle Tennessee ISSA Chapter is a group of security professionals and individuals interested
in information security who meet on a regular basis to discuss security related topics. Meetings are generally held in the Nashville area.
The primary purpose of the Middle Tennessee ISSA Chapter is to promote the Information Security profession through education of its members and
interaction with the community. --> Read more about us.
A Call for Newsletter Articles:
Our Chapter's Media Relations Director, Frank Platt, needs your help. Frank is trying to create a quarterly newsletter that will be of interest to all members, but needs aspiring writers to provide him with articles on security-related topics. If you're afraid to contribute because you're afraid of committing a grammatical faux pas, never fear. With Frank's editorial skill, you'll come out looking like a literary genius. And you'll earn extra CPE towards your CISSP renewal, too. Send your articles or article ideas to Frank here.
Are you interested in CISSP certification?:
The Chapter is currently exploring options to provide members with a discount for CISSP training.
We are trying to gauge interest from the membership. Please take a moment to provide us with some feedback, by selecting 'Online Poll' from the menu on the left.
InfoSec 2008:
The Nashville Technology Council and Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association will host InfoSec 2008, Middle Tennessee's premier information systems security conference, Thursday, September 18th at the Nashville Convention Center.

Changes in CISSP certification to begin Oct 1, 2007:
The (ISC)2 board of directors has approved new experience requirements for
the CISSP certification, effective 1 October, 2007. These changes
will not affect current holders of the CISSP or those scheduled to take the
exam by 30 September 2007.

(ISC)2 e-Symposium Series:
Are you also an (ISC)2 member? Click on the link below for information regarding free bi-monthly e-Symposium online seminars. You will be able to earn three Group A CPE credits for each online
seminar you attend, which are not auditable and (ISC)2 will submit on your
behalf.

Membership Referral Reward:
You may have seen the 1+1 Program that ISSA National is having. We just wanted to remind you that our local chapter also still has a Referral Rewards Program in place.
Any ISSA Middle Tennessee member, who refers three (3) new members to the chapter, will receive an American Express gift card with a value of $100. If you referred three individuals, simply have those folks
email our Membership Director stating that you referred them to the chapter. "New members" also includes renewals of members that have been inactive for at least one year.
Since the Message Boards were not really used by anyone, we removed them from our web site.
In its place we opened an email based mailing list. If you are an ISSA member, you can subscribe to the list by sending an email to discussion-subscribe@issa-midtn.org.
This list is a general discussion list open to all ISSA members.
